Arctic Haven: Finland (Winters Special)

Arrival in Helsinki, then proceed to the hotel & check in (international check-in time is 14:00) and explore at your leisure. No planned activities are scheduled, giving you the flexibility to immerse yourself in the local culture, indulge in culinary delights, or simply relax and unwind. Overnight stay at hotel.

After having breakfast at the hotel, explore our wild archipelago where forest meets sea. Join us for a unique Finnish nature experience in the Porkkalaniemi nature reserve. Walk over ancient bedrock, explore diverse habitats, and enjoy activities like berry picking, mushroom foraging, and bird watching. Our 3-hour excursion includes a 1-hour Finnish-style lunch break by the Baltic Sea, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning views.

After having breakfast at the hotel, the trip to Porvoo takes approximately 40 minutes. During the journey, we will share insights about Finland’s history and cultural aspects. Porvoo, the second oldest city in Finland, is renowned for its charming "Old Town," which features a medieval street layout and picturesque wooden houses. We will explore notable sites including the market square, King’s Hotel, merchant houses, the Niko Laurilla store, and a delightful toy store. Porvoo is also celebrated as the hometown of Johan Ludvig Runeberg and Albert Edelfelt. Throughout our visit, you’ll experience the tranquil and serene pace of Finnish life.

At the hotel, start your day with breakfast. And complete your hotel check-out. One day before the transfer, comprehensive pick-up instructions will be sent to you. Meet your driver at the hotel lobby. He/she will transport you to the airport/train. After that you will be received at the airport/train station by a friendly guide or driver. Proceed to the hotel and complete the check-in process. And the rest of the day is yours.

After having breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a day filled with Arctic adventure! Start with a visit to a reindeer farm, where you’ll ride a reindeer sledge and earn a Reindeer Sledge Driver’s License. Next, experience a thrilling 800m husky sled ride with Alaskan Huskies. Savor a traditional salmon soup lunch and hear stories from local reindeer herders about their unique lifestyle. Afterward, head to Santa Claus Village for free time to explore, meet Santa Claus, step across the Arctic Circle, and, for children under 140 cm, try mini snowmobiling on a special track. The day ends with a return transfer to Rovaniemi.

Begin your day with a hotel meal before embarking on a captivating journey to Kourouma Canyon, a 30-kilometer-long, 130-meter-deep marvel southeast of Rovaniemi. A guide will pick you up, leading you through the picturesque Kourouma Canyon Nature Reserve, where you'll witness frozen waterfalls, cliffs, and rapids. Snowshoes are optional for this scenic 6-hour hike, featuring rare species and the beauty of snowy nature. Warm up with a Finnish campfire snack, witness your guide's fire-making skills, and conclude the excursion back in Rovaniemi around 4 PM. In the evening, experience the Northern Lights on a guided adventure starting from your Rovaniemi accommodation. After being picked up, head to a prime viewing location near a lake or river. Enjoy Finnish sausages, hot drinks, and gingerbread while gazing at the night sky far from city lights. Capture the aurora in photos, or let your guide assist you. The adventure concludes with a return to your accommodation after the mesmerizing Northern Lights experience.

Depending on the time of your flight, breakfast at the hotel. Check out of the hotel (check-out time is 12:00 o'clock internationally). One day prior to the transfer, we will notify you of the specific pick-up time (usually three hours before your flight time). In the hotel lobby, meet your driver for a private trip to the airport. (Distance is approximately one hour; varies on traffic and road conditions).
